Trieste Lockwood

Trieste has over a decade of experience in clean energy policy and advocacy work in Virginia. Prior to starting her consulting practice, she served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Chief Energy Advisor to Governor Ralph S. Northam. Trieste was also a policy advisor to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. During her time in government, she worked on complex energy and climate issues and advised on policy and regulations. Trieste enjoyed engaging with diverse stakeholders and exploring all angles of an issue to achieve results. She led efforts between the Commonwealth and states, countries, businesses, and other organizations to collaborate and achieve shared clean energy goals goals.

Before joining the Governor’s administration, she worked at several non-profit organizations where she engaged in state and federal policy work. She excels at building coalitions, creating and managing work groups, coordinating issue-based campaigns, analyzing policy and regulations, and mediating challenging situations to find solutions. During law school she clerked at a U.S. federal agency and for a Senator on Capitol Hill. Trieste is a frequent public speaker on state energy policies and issues.
